Ingredients
  

Sandwich Base
  • 4 slices Italian bread or ciabatta
Filling
  • 4 oz salami chopped
  • 4 oz capicola chopped
  • 4 oz provolone cheese chopped
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce chopped
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup pepperoncini sliced
Dressing
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the salami, capicola, provolone cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pepperoncini.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the dressing over the meat and vegetable mixture and toss to combine.
Assemble the Sandwich
  1. Lay out the slices of Italian bread.
  2. Divide the filling mixture evenly among the slices of bread.
  3. Top with the remaining slices of bread to form sandwiches.
  4. Optionally, grill the sandwiches in a sandwich press or on a grill until golden brown and crispy.
Serve
  1. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
