Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf bread Thick-cut, brioche or challah recommended.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 Tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 Tablespoon butter For cooking.

Method
 

  1. Preheat griddle to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together eggs.
  3. Add brown sugar, sea salt, vanilla, and cinnamon, and whisk until combined.
  4. Add milk and whisk until well mixed.
  5. Pour mixture into a shallow baking dish.
  6. Place bread in the egg mixture and let it soak for 10-15 seconds, then flip and repeat.
  7. Melt 1/2 Tablespoon butter on the preheated griddle.
  8. Remove soaked bread and place on the heated, buttered griddle.
  9. Cook for 3-5 minutes on the first side or until golden brown.
  10. Flip the bread over and repeat on the second side.
  11. Continue until all the bread has been cooked.
  12. Serve immediately with pure maple syrup.
