Method
Prepare the Pork
- Mix all dry rub ingredients in a bowl. Rub the mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it's well coated. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight for better flavor.
Preheat the Smoker
- Preheat your electric smoker to 225°F (107°C). Add the soaked wood chips to the smoker box.
Smoke the Pork
- Place the pork shoulder in the smoker and close the lid. Smoke for approximately 4-6 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
Rest and Shred
- Remove the pork from the smoker and wrap it in aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes. After resting, shred the pork using two forks.
Serve
- Serve the pulled pork with barbecue sauce on buns or as desired.
