Ingredients
  

Dip Base
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup caramelized onions see instructions for preparation
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Prepare Caramelized Onions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil and sliced onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
Mix the Dip
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
  2. Fold in the caramelized onions until evenly distributed.
Serve
  1. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped chives. Serve with chips, crackers, or vegetables.
